Characteristics
High-quality Siberian wood with a light brown to reddish color. Characteristic also for the presence of well-grown knots and high resistance to weather effects and mechanical damage. Boards without surface treatment will acquire a silver-grey patina appearance over time and cracks may begin to appear on them, which may grow further. Therefore, we recommend treating the boards and prisms on all sides with a suitable glaze or oil before installation. Surface treatment must be carried out regularly and is recommended twice a year, before and after the season.
Use
The boards are mainly intended for floor use on balconies, terraces and other similar purposes outdoors. Ideal, for example, for terraces of family houses. Due to the possible appearance of cracks, we do not recommend places where barefoot walking prevails, such as areas around swimming pools.
Construction
Use base prisms made of the same or better quality wood than the boards, observe their axial spacing of max. 45 cm, the direction of laying perpendicular to the adjacent building and the slope of approx. 1% and approx. 1% in the direction of the boards, we slope away from the building. The substrate must be solid or compacted to prevent the prisms from sinking and their long-term wetting. In the case of a compacted substrate, we recommend the use of a trowel of fraction 8/16 or 16/22 mm, when laying on a solid substrate, it is advisable to use rubber pads under the substrate prisms. Pre-drill and countersink the boards before assembling them to the underlying prisms against possible burrs around the screw head, thus preventing the appearance of cracks at the point of attachment, which can further increase in the event of sudden changes in weather and frost. To assemble the boards, use stainless steel screws 5x60 mm, always in pairs. Each screw must be at least 5 cm from the ends of the boards and 1.5 cm from their edges. However, the overlap at the end of the board should not be more than 5 cm. Keep an expansion joint of approx. 0.5 cm between the individual boards, if you connect them one after the other, then 0.5 cm per regular meter of board length (3 m board - expansion joint 1.5 cm).
